Organization has granted more than $1 million to students

By Cheryl Cheng -- Video Business, 1/6/2009

JAN. 6 | Applications for the 2009 Entertainment Merchants Assn. scholarship, awarded to incoming and current college students within the EMA-member family, are now available on the organization’s Web site.

Established in 1987, the EMA Scholarship Foundation has granted scholarships totaling more than $1 million to more than 215 students.

“The EMA Scholarship Foundation is more important than ever in these tough economic times,” EMA president and CEO Bo Andersen said. “We are pleased to be able to assist the employees of EMA member companies and their immediate family members to be able to afford higher education.”

The annual program is open to high school seniors who will be attending college the following year and to undergraduates currently enrolled in a four-year college. Employees of EMA member companies and their spouses and children are eligible.
