> Grim U.K. actioner boasts the titular body count but little else.
There are two gimmicks in this U.K. import: One, the promised body count of the title, and two, the revenge-obsessed hero (Brendan Carr from Band of Brothers) who never speaks. In fact, the entire film seems to have been shot without sound and later dubbed (an annoying money-saving effort, undoubtedly), with copious narration by Doug Bradley (Hellraiser’s Pinhead). The level of cruelty in the many bloody fight scenes is as high as the body count.
Shelf Talk: 10 Dead Men has none of the wit of its obvious models (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), but the action is plentiful, and fight fans are already visiting the film’s MySpace page for release details. MTI will continue that viral thread with a PR push on fan sites.
