DEC. 8 | Paramount Home Entertainment domestic president Meagan Burrows has left the company as part of a major cost-cutting initiative by the studio’s parent Viacom.

Burrows
A Paramount veteran of more than 20 years, Burrows moved into her most recent role in 2003.
Also within the Paramount DVD division, executive director of sales Sheldon Hanson and VP of sales Steven Roberts exited the studio for the same reasons.
Last week, Viacom management said it would eliminate 850 positions worldwide, which represented about 7% of its workforce. The company wanted to position itself for the current economic slowdown, which is expected to continue into next year.
A Paramount spokeswomen declined to comment on the home entertainment executive departures.
It appears that the studio hasn’t yet made a decision about how the responsibilities of Burrows, Hanson and Roberts will be covered in their absence. Some of Burrows’ workload could conceivably pass to the studio’s top home entertainment chief, worldwide president Kelley Avery.
