Some of the most popular BabyFirstTV shows are 'Harry the Bunny' and 'Squeak'

OCT. 24 | Summit Entertainment has secured the U.S. DVD distribution rights to programming from cable/satellite channel BabyFirstTV.

The channel’s educational titles are geared towards Moms and their babies, with a focus on early language and fitness learning.

Its DVD library includes such developmental titles as Social Explorations, Visual Inspirations, Cognitive Beginnings, Numerical Concepts and Night Symphony. There is also a Parent & Baby series, spanning the titles I Can Sign, BabyFirst Tales, MY Gym at Home and Baby D.I.Y. Some of the most popular BabyFirstTV shows are also available on DVD, including Harry the Bunny, Squeak, Tec the Tractor and Shushybye Baby.

BabyFirstTV has self-distributed its titles in the past.

“Summit Entertainment is the perfect distribution partner for our DVD line-up,” said Jeffrey Quinn, senior VP sales and marketing for BabyFirstTV. “Summit has done an outstanding job marketing and selling their titles to all major retailers and quite frankly, one of the few companies we felt could manage our significant DVD output without losing sight of the brand.”

Summit Entertainment president Steve Nickerson added, “We’re excited to represent BabyFirstTV in the DVD category.  The company has put together a truly unique line-up that has really hit home with parents here in the US and around the world.  It’s a great addition to our theatrical DVD releases and the channel’s consumer awareness and support makes them a great a partner for us.”
