AUG. 15 | Image Entertainment has acquired DVD, digital and broadcast distribution rights to never-before-released concert The Who at Kilburn: 1977.
The concert features one of the band’s last performances before the 1978 death of The Who member Keith Moon. It was filmed as part of the 1979 documentary The Kids are Alright but has never been made publicly available.
Spanning two discs, The Who at Kilburn will include 29 songs, as well as the first live recorded performance of the band’s album Tommy. The Who’s 1969 London Coliseum show will also be part of the set.
Image, which secured rights from Spitfire Pictures, has not yet set a street date for The Who at Kilburn.
“The release of this concert is a milestone in the career of a band that defined an entire music generation,” said David Borshell, Image Entertainment president. “Original fans of The Who have been waiting more than 30 years for this moment, and new fans will have a chance to see one of the great concerts in modern music history.”
