Disney's Chapek re-elected to lead DEG board

Warner's Sanders voted as president

JULY 28 | The Digital Entertainment Group elected a new board, led by chairman Bob Chapek, president of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, and president Ron Sanders, president of Warner Home Video.

The trade association also appointed Larry Wilk, WDSHE VP of worldwide operations, as its green ambassador.

DEG member companies elected a new board of directors to serve from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2009.

The board then voted to elect the five officers responsible for leadership and oversight of DEG’s agenda, budget and executive staff. In addition to Chapek, who was re-elected, and Sanders, a first-term president, the officers are: VP Craig Kornblau, president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment; secretary Mike Dunn, president of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment; and chief financial officer Bob Weissburg, president of sales and marketing in North America for D&M Holdings.

In his role as DEG green ambassador, Wilk will help promote the DEG's green initiatives, including acting as a conduit between the five recently formed DEG green task forces for metrics, replication, packaging, logistics/distribution and retail execution.

DEG’s four working committees will be headed by Deluxe Digital Studios senior VP of new technology Todd Collart (technology committee), Sony BMG Music Entertainment senior VP of new products and services Leslie Cohen (content), Universal Studios Home Entertainment executive VP and chief operating officer Tom Emrey (operations) and Philips Electronics VP Marty Gordon (communications).

Members of the board are: Henry McGee, president of HBO Video; Willem de Zoete, VP of digital entertainment services at Hewlett-Packard Company; Karl Bearnarth, senior VP of marketing JVC Company of America; Steve Beeks, president and chief operating officer Lionsgate Entertainment; Blair Westlake, corporate VP of media and entertainment group Microsoft; Eisuke Tsuyuzaki, VP of corporate development and general manager Panasonic; Kelley Avery, president Paramount Pictures Worldwide Home Entertainment; Marty Gordon, VP Philips Electronics; Gary Bauhard, director of strategic marketing Pioneer Electronics (USA); Cohen; Chris Fawcett, VP of home video product management Sony Electronics; David Bishop, president of worldwide home entertainment Sony Pictures Home Entertainment; and Jodi Sally, VP Toshiba America Consumer Products.
