MyBoneYard site recycles computers, pays shipping

May 2 | Retailers and suppliers can now be green even when upgrading to the latest technology.
Website MyBoneYard recycles computers and cell phones for customers throughout the United States, providing free shipping to all and cash rewards to a few.
Visitors to the site are taken through a series of questions about the type of system they're interested in recycling. Based on the product description, users can then print out a pre-paid shipping label to send their computer or phone to MyBoneYard. The site also offers to pay a pre-calculated "reward" for select items, based on their make, model and condition. An estimated value for any items to be recycled can be calculated online, with MyBoneYard confirming that amount upon their inspection at their recycling centers.
Recycled systems are reused whenever possible; sometimes they are donated to various organizations, oftentimes they are "remarketed" for sale in other countries. If a system is too old or damaged, MyBoneYard then reuses whatever parts it can and disposes of the rest in an eco-friendly way.
Going forward, the service plans to add recycling services for additional products, including MP3s, cameras, GPS systems and game systems.
