EMA to honor Begley with Humanitarian Award

By Cheryl Cheng -- Video Business, 4/8/2008

APRIL 8 | Entertainment Merchants Assn. will present actor Ed Begley Jr. the Humanitarian Award at the upcoming Home Media Expo, which will be held June 24-26 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

“The Entertainment Merchants Assn. is pleased to recognize Ed Begley Jr. with our Humanitarian Award for his long-standing dedication to preserving the environment,” EMA president Bo Andersen said. “He has been committed to this cause long before it was making front page news. Ed is not only involved in several environment organizations, but extends his efforts into living an extraordinarily ‘green’ lifestyle—truly living by example.”

Begley stars in the HGTV series Living With Ed, which documents how he and his wife live environmentally conscious lives. The show won top honors at the 17th Annual Environmental Media Assn. Awards last year. Begley also is chairman for the Environmental Media Assn. and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservatory.
