APRIL 3 | One the heels of its new corporate leadership, Image Entertainment has added Bill Bromiley and Rick Eiberg to its top ranks as chief acquisitions officer and executive VP of operations/chief technology officer, respectively.
In addition, Michael B. Bayer has been upped to VP of business and legal affairs and associate general counsel. He replaces Dennis Cho, who served as Image counsel through March 31.
Bromiley’s appointment had been expected, as he has been interacting with Image during his previous acquisitions stint at Capitol Films. Capitol parent BTP Acquisition Co. was moving to purchase Image until that merger collapsed in February.
Formerly president of First Look Home Entertainment, Bromiley will now oversee Image’s worldwide acquisition efforts. He will report to David Borshell, who was named president and top executive of the company earlier this week, replacing Image founder Marty Greenwald.
Eiberg, previously senior VP of operations at Image, will be in charge of the company’s product supply chain, distribution and technology. He will report to Jeff Framer, chief financial officer at Image.
Bayer, who will supervise content contracts and litigation matters at Image, also will report to Framer.
“I believe that Image has one of the best executive management teams in our industry,” said Borshell. “Jeff Framer and I have worked together for more than 17 years and are dedicated to Image’s ultimate success. Bill Bromiley and Rick Eiberg provide the company with the expertise necessary to meet our goals, while Michael Bayer brings studio-level knowledge and vast legal experience to the company. I look forward to working with each of them as we execute Image’s growth and profitability plans.”
The newly hired execs say they will rise to the challenge of expanding Image business.
“With an established infrastructure and a strong base of content, Image is uniquely positioned to add feature films to its product offerings,” said Bromiley. “My priority is to grow Image’s core business and help increase overall revenue through key partner alliances and first-rate, quality, cast-driven feature film acquisitions.”
Eiberg added, “Image has always placed focus on the customer, and we plan to further expand our efforts to ensure we are providing our retail partners with the finest distribution service and seamless integration with their operations, whether physical or digital. We will also continue to focus on optimizing our infrastructure in order to drive efficiency and support the overall growth of the company.”
