Local EDPA Puts Outside-the-Box Thinking In Boxes

Heidi Genoist -- Tradeshow Week, 2/21/2008 2:19:00 PM

Creative types interested in winning a prize and having their designs on display during the Exhibitor conference and exhibition only have a little time left to get in on the action.

The Las Vegas chapter of the Exhibit Designers & Producers Assn. is accepting entries for its 2008 Design Challenge until Feb. 29. In keeping with the subject of the group’s most recent meeting, the design challenge this year has a green theme.

Entrants must create something useful that is made entirely from recycled or sustainable materials. The item has to fit inside a 12-cubic-inch box and be transportable (in other words, not too heavy, fragile, etc.).
Entrants must also provide digital images and descriptions of their work, so that the national EDPA Green Committee can do the judging.

The Las Vegas EDPA will display winning designs and hand out awards at its chapter meeting to be held March 12 in conjunction with Exhibitor, scheduled March 9-13 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Winners will get a continental breakfast delivered to their office, and of course, some get press coverage …

For application information, send an e-mail to edpa_lv@yahoo.com. Entries should also be submitted electronically to this address.
