Forget About It

By Ed Hulse -- Video Business, 12/3/2007

ALLUMINATION
Street: Jan. 8
Prebook: Dec. 4
> Amiable Mob comedy with a recognizable cast will skew to an older demographic.

This silly but inoffensive comedy stars Burt Reynolds, Robert Loggia, Charles Durning and Raquel Welch as retired Arizona seniors who get themselves into trouble with a mobster (Michael Paloma), who has been relocated to their community by the Witness Protection Program. Forget About It gets a boost from a stellar cast, although Paloma grabs more screen time than his talent warrants. This film will most likely score with viewers who remember stars Reynolds, Welch and Loggia from their heydays in the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.

Shelf Talk: Aside from marquee value, Forget About It doesn’t have much to offer, so it’ll have to be sold on the backs of more successful comedies with similar characters or themes, such as Analyze This and The Whole Nine Yards. The cast will draw interest from an older demographic, but don’t expect too much support from younger, hipper viewers.

Comedy, color, PG-13 (mild language, mild violence, sexual situations), 85 min., DVD $29.98
Extras: featurette
Director: B.J. Davis
First Run: DVD premiere
