Studios spread love with Valentines DVDs

NOV. 29 | Studios are sending out their Valentines early this year, releasing several romantic comedies and dramas for the Feb. 14 celebration.

No Reservations arrives Feb. 12, just in time for Valentine's Day.
On Jan. 15, Image Entertainment will bring romantic comedy Suburban Girl (prebook Dec. 18) to DVD ($27.98) and Blu-ray ($32.98). The film stars Sarah Michelle Gellar as a naïve New York book editor and Alec Baldwin as a literary star who introduces her to a new world.
Also on that day, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will celebrate the 50th anniversary of An Affair to Remember (prebook Dec. 12; DVD $19.98), starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. Fox also will distribute on Jan. 15 a collector’s edition of MGM’s When Harry Met Sally (prebook Dec. 17; DVD $19.98) with seven new featurettes. Rob Reiner’s 1990 romantic comedy stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan as friends who fall in love.
And Warner Home Video will release cartoon classic Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown on Jan. 15 (prebook Dec. 11; DVD $19.98). The title will include two bonus TV specials and a new documentary featurette.
Warner also will release two romantic comedies on the eve of Valentine’s Day. A deluxe edition of Nora Ephron’s You’ve Got Mail will arrive Feb. 5 (prebook Jan. 1; DVD $19.97) with new featurettes and interviews. And for those who usually wait until the last minute, No Reservations streets Feb. 12 (prebook Jan. 8; DVD $28.98; Blu-ray or HD DVD $35.99). The $43 million-grossing romantic comedy stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart as feuding chefs who fall for each other.
