Xinhua, NBC team for Olympics toon
FROM VARIETY: Ring Force Five will debut on DVD

NOV. 9 | FROM VARIETY: NBC Universal's NBC Olympics unit has linked up with Chinese media conglom Xinhua Finance Media to produce animated skein Ring Force Five ahead of next year's Beijing Games.Skein will be produced through the Nasdaq-listed XFMedia's subsidiary Small World. It will feature five Olympians from the future who travel back in time to experience the true essence and spirit of the modern Games, revived in 1896 based on their ancient model in Greece.
The project will kick off with a one-hour DVD to be released in the U.S. just before the 2008 Beijing Games. NBC Olympics and Small World will be responsible for the global marketing and merchandising of the DVD.
