OCT. 8 | Warner Home Video is bowing its first interactive DVD game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Challenge, on Dec. 11 (prebook Nov. 6).

Warner's first DVD game is an addition to the Harry Potter franchise.
Priced at $24.98, the game launches the same day WHV streets its latest film installment in the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Also hitting shelves on Dec. 11 is the Harry Potter Years 1-5 Limited Edition Gift Set.
In Hogwarts Challenge, players experience attending class and living at Potter’s beloved wizarding school. Using the DVD player remote, players must avoid the book and film franchise’s signature pitfalls, such as the Whomping Willow and the Forbidden Forest. High-scorers of Hogwarts house points will score tickets to the Quidditch World Cup and compete in a wizard duel.
Hogwarts Challenge primarily covers the first three Potter films, but scenes from the fourth and fifth movies are also included. All gameplay revolves around the DVD; there are no supplemental boards or pieces required.
“It is a privilege for WHV to be able to develop this revolutionary interactive DVD game that showcases one of the most successful franchises spanning the globe,” said Amit Desai, WHV VP of kids and sports marketing. “Our goal with our interactive DVD titles is to bring more family-friendly characters to life in a hands-on interactive way that is fun for all.”
