AUG. 27 | Starz Entertainment has partnered with chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices to give customers upgrading their computers with AMD chips, motherboards or graphics cards a free month of Vongo online movie subscription service.
Starz said the promotion is designed for students heading back to school and other multi-media enthusiasts and gamers.
The offer applies to customers who buy AMD processors, motherboards or ATI Radeon TM Graphics.
The AMD products contain a Vongo promotional code that will give users 30 days of access to Vongo's subscription service, including its first-run and classic Hollywood films, other movies, anime, music concerts, extreme sports videos, documentaries and more. Vongo provides unlimited access to 2,500 movie and videos.
The 30-day promotion is a limited supply offer through Sept. 9 and is available only to new Vongo customers.
"Whether it's a student looking to increase their video card or processor performance for a better classroom experience or a gamer seeking to maximize frame rates for the latest online competition, any individual upgrading to one of these AMD products will also benefit from the outstanding online movie and video selection on Vongo," said Joe Cantwell, VP of advanced services for Starz Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Starz’s Liberty Media division has licensed 40 hours of its popular manga content, including clips of Ghost in the Shell and Ninja Scroll, to broadband video site Heavy.com, which will air it free supported by ads.
