Spider-Man 3 swings to DVD Oct. 30

Box-office hit will be available in six configurations

Spider-Man 3 arrives on DVD and Blu-ray in six configurations.

AUG. 3 | Spider-Man 3 will swing onto home video in six different ways Oct. 30, including two Blu-ray Disc sets.

Garnering $888 million worldwide in theaters, Spider-Man 3 represents Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s heftiest Blu-ray release to date. It will be offered as a two-disc edition ($49.95) and as part of a Spider-Man High Definition Trilogy compilation package ($98.95). The Trilogy will contain all three installments of the Spider-Man franchise—the debut of the first two films on the Blu-ray format.

The same day, Spider-Man 3 will bow on standard-definition DVD as a single disc ($28.97), a two-disc special edition ($36.95) and in the Trilogy compilation ($38.96).

Also, Sony will sell Spider-Man 3 for the PlayStation Portable for $28.97.

The prebook date for all SKUs is Sept. 27.

Spider-Man 3 holds the theatrical record for achieving the largest three-day box-office total in history ($151 million) and the blue ribbon for top worldwide opening ($231 million).

Both Blu-ray and standard-def versions are packed with extras, including nearly a dozen featurettes and various commentaries from stars Tobey Maquire and Kirsten Dunst, director Sam Raimi and other cast and crew members.
