Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray sampler at Best Buy

Sony promotional disc available with purchase of format software, hardware

By Susanne Ault -- Video Business, 4/30/2007

APRIL 30 | Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is offering a sneak peek of Spider-Man 3 on Blu-ray exclusively at Best Buy, just prior to the film’s May 4 theatrical launch.

Starting April 29, while supplies last, Best Buy customers will receive a free Blu-ray sampler disc with the purchase of any Blu-ray software or hardware product. The disc features Spider-Man 3 trailers and clips and represents the first high-def look at this next installment of the franchise.

“Best Buy’s promotion is an example of an important marketing tool that will raise consumer awareness for the Blu-ray Disc format on an ongoing basis,” said David Bishop, SPHE president.

Along with Spider-Man 3, Sony is offering a number of standard DVD deals this week at Best Buy. Spider-Man and Underworld are among titles priced at $5.99 at the chain.
