FEB. 21 | TNR Entertainment has installed an additional 51 DVD rental machines throughout the H-E-B grocery chain in Texas.
The new TNR machines are spread throughout such cities as Austin, Dallas, Houston, Laredo and Waco.
In total, TNR now commands nearly 400 kiosks in the state. That’s more kiosks in the state than the industry’s dominant disc rental company, Redbox, according to TNR spokesman Craig Parsons.
Redbox operates 285 rental machines in Texas, located in McDonald’s outlets in Houston and various groceries throughout the state.Nationwide, TNR and Redbox operate 1,300 and 2,200 machines, respectively. TNR recently expanded its presence in the West Coast, and Redbox moved into Supervalu grocer locations.
“This new agreement will enable TNR to introduce even more customers in Texas—our home base—to the convenience and value afforded by the DVD kiosk rental concept,” said Jeff Karbowiak, chief operating officer of TNR Entertainment. “Building on successful partnerships TNR enjoys with grocery retailers reinforces the win-win aspect of our business—a model that offers distinct benefits to the consumer, the retail partner and TNR as the vendor.”
