DEC. 21 | Burn-to-DVD download service EZTakes has launched a new version of its service that will allow users worldwide to buy movies from its site.
EZTakes has deals with Koch Entertainment, Troma Entertainment and other independent companies. The site doesn’t use copy-protection for its DVDs, and users can burn downloads to DVDs that can be viewed on any DVD player. EZTakes does include a unique ID number on each download that can be traced back to the original source if it is pirated.
“With our growing catalog of over 1,500 feature-length films, we already offer many more titles than even the largest ‘bricks-and-mortar’ retail stores, and our ability to expand is not limited by physical shelf space,” EZTakes CEO Jim Flynn said. “The launch of our global service has dramatically increased our reach by offering the convenience and flexibility of downloadable DVDs to literally hundreds of millions of people worldwide.”
