AUG. 21 | Buena Vista Home Entertainment will debut Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest on DVD on Dec. 5, male-centric home entertainment site The Man Room reported Monday.

The latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie comes to disc in the same frame as the original.
The film will be released in both a single-disc version ($19.95 MAP) and two-disc collector’s edition ($24.95 MAP), according to the site. The single-disc version will include writer commentaries and a blooper reel, but the collector’s edition also will have featurettes, a look at pirate lore and other extras.
Buena Vista hasn’t yet officially announced the DVD release and wouldn't comment, but the studio has said the title will not be released on Blu-ray Disc this year.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, meanwhile, announced Monday that it will release Adam Sandler comedy Click on Blu-ray, standard DVD and PlayStation Portable on Oct. 10. The high-def version will be priced at $38.95, with the others at $28.95. Click grossed $134 million in theaters.
The Pirates Dec. 5 timing is similar to the release of the first movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in 2003. The title sold through 11 million units in its first week out in stores.
Dead Man’s Chest has outperformed the original at the box office, pulling in $396 million, compared to the $187 million the original grossed. But reviews of the sequel have been more mixed.
