Hart Sharp docks Spurlock series

New documentary line labeled for Super Size Me director

JUNE 30 | Hart Sharp Video is teaming with its signature talent, Morgan Spurlock, on a series of documentary DVD releases.

Titles will be labeled Morgan Spurlock Presents and feature worthy docs that are under the public’s radar. Hart Sharp and Spurlock’s Warrior Poets production company plan to release four to six titles under the banner each year.

Spurlock first gained fame with Super Size Me, which Hart Sharp released on DVD.

Czech Dreams, exploring Western influence on Czech culture, will kick off the series in October. It was acquired upon its inclusion in last year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

The Future of Food, a look at genetically altered food, should street by the end of November.

Exact street dates and pricing have not yet been determined.

“Festivals are a great place to see docs, but there are so many that don’t make it in,” Hart Harp president Joe Amodei said. “We are looking for docs that receive recognition, but may have slipped through the cracks.”

Amodei expects to talk up the Spurlock Presents line at the upcoming EMA (formerly VSDA) show.
