Murphy to lend Tinker Bell her voice
Character to speak for the first time in 2007 DVD premiere

JUNE 20 | NEW YORK—The Licensing International 2006 show here opened Tuesday with the announcement by Walt Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook that actress Brittany Murphy will provide the voice of Tinker Bell in an upcoming animated Disney DVD premiere about Peter Pan’s famed fairy friend.

Tinker Bell, due in 2007, will be the first such film in Disney’s new Fairies franchise. Produced by DisneyToon Studios, the film will show the classic character in the Pixie Hollow world complete with new fairies, new mythologies and new best friends.
Murphy, who has voiced Luanne Platter on the animated TV show King of the Hill for the past nine years, was on-hand for the event, where she proclaimed that she “couldn’t be more thrilled.”
