Board of Review honors Feltenstein
Warner exec receives William K. Everson Film History Award

JAN. 10 | George Feltenstein, senior VP theatrical catalog marketing for Warner Home Video, was presented with the National Board of Review’s William K. Everson Film History Award on Jan. 10.

NBR dubbed Feltenstein “one of our cinematic treasures” for his continued commitment to film heritage and his mission to bring them to the public with a high degree of quality and a rich historical context.
After years shepherding the restoration and videocassette, laserdisc and DVD releases at MGM and Turner Entertainment, Feltenstein continues his mission at Warner, where last year he spearheaded the DVD releases of such classic gangster films as The Public Enemy, collections of Bette Davis and Joan Crawford pictures, restored versions of James Dean’s legacy, remastered versions of The Wizard of Oz and Ben Hur, a series of controversial Hollywood classics, the first collection of Astaire-Rogers musicals, the entire Thin Man series and the restored and re-mastered 1933 King Kong.
He earned an Emmy Award as one of the executive producers of the acclaimed WNET/American Masters-TEC co-production Judy Garland: By Myself and has produced more than 60 CD soundtrack albums, such as restored and expanded releases of The Wizard of Oz, Singin’ in the Rain, An American in Paris and Gone With the Wind.
